Now that the Automax app is installed, we can begin using it to add real inspection data to our appraisals in Automax. Let’s get started by opening the app. I would highly encourage you to, if possible, follow along with these steps using the Automax app installed on your personal device.

When you first open the app, you’ll be presented with this login screen. Here, enter the same credentials that you used to log in to Automax Copilot on desktop.

Once you have logged in successfully, you will be automatically redirected to the home page. All of the appraisals you create in Automax, whether through the desktop copilot OR through this mobile app, will show up here. If you have used Automax copilot on the web before and created an appraisal there, you should see it in this list here as well.

However, for the purpose of this onboarding, we will go ahead and create a new appraisal from scratch. To begin this creation process, locate and click the button with the plus icon in the top right of the screen. Next, you will be prompted to select the report type. The mobile app currently only supports reports of type Form1004, and support for other formats is currently under development. Click on the Form1004 option to proceed to the next step.

Next, you will be prompted to select the property type. Again, the Automax mobile app currently only supports appraisals for single-family residences, and support for other types of properties is currently under development. Before proceeding, make sure to read and follow these instructions displayed at the bottom of the list.

Click the single-family residence option to proceed to the next step. On this screen, begin entering the address of the property which you are appraising. As you enter the address, corresponding suggestions will show up as a list below the input. Select one of these to autofill the complete address.

Inspect the map that shows up to confirm that this is the correct location. Once confirmed, click “Confirm Address” to lock it in. Then, click the “Continue to Exterior Photos” to move on to the next stage.
